Edwardian
Edward VII became King on 22nd January 1901 and was the first British Monarch of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, which became the House of Windsor when his son George V came to the throne.
Because his mother, Queen Victoria, lived for so long he had also been the longest serving Prince of Wales.
The Edwardian era signalled significant changes in technology which included powered flight; and also changes in society with the rise of socialism.
