A George 111 sterling silver coffee pot
with wooden scroll handle, fixed urn finial and an inverted neck above an urn shaped body. It has bright engraved decoration, part fluted body, and shaped reserve on a spreading oval foot. There is a bushel and snake crest to one side, which is that of Bennell of Oxfordshire and Dod of London. The other side bears a monogram. The makers mark on the base is clear, although the R has been slightly mis-struck. The rim of the lid also displays the maker's mark and lion passant. In all a spectacular piece.
