of rectangular form with rounded corners, the dome hinged cover with ivory detachable finial, angular wood handle, engraved with a band of lotus and palmette, the central girdle engraved with a band of Greek key, supported by four ball feet.

There is a full set of hallmarks to the base, which being widespread, have been photographed separately as shown below. The lid also displays the lion passant and date letter. The finial screw shows the lion passant.
