A beautiful tea caddy with gilded interior and of octagonal and baluster form. There are side handles, with a raised cover surmounted by a knop finial. There is a lock and key, which is functional.
A lock was often fitted to tea caddies to protect the tea, which in those days was an expensive product.
The caddy is in very good condition with the hallmarks clearly displayed on the side. The inside of the lid is marked with the lion passant and date letter for 1908
